Jarpum Gamlin, who contested the 2019 Assembly election from Arunachal Pradesh as an NPP candidate, was appointed as party’s national secretary in-charge for media, social media and communications.
Gamlin has been appointed by the national president of the National People’s Party (NPP) and Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K. Sangma.

Gamlin is a former journalist and founding editor and publisher of Arunachal Pradesh-based newspaper ‘Eastern Sentinel’.
He has over two decade of experience in the field of media.
“Communication plays a very important role in politics in an age of information. Gamlin with prior experience in the field of media will be an asset for the party. He understands the nuances of media and communication and knows the industry very well. I am sure he would be a friend to all the media persons, particularly from the Northeast and will aid in providing required information to the media,” said Conrad K. Sangma, national president of NPP.

“Paknga Bage, who contested the Assembly election from Arunachal Pradesh, was appointed as the national secretary in-charge of Nagaland,” stated a press communique issued by NPP’s communication cell.
Bage has been entrusted the role to strengthen the party base in Nagaland in close coordination with Nagaland state unit.
“As national party, NPP has already begun its interventions to strengthen the party base in different State of the Northeast and necessary initiatives are being taken to ensure that the party reaches out to the people of Northeast and beyond,” Conrad Sangma added.
