What has led the state-owned Air India to its status as on today?
Well, while the government employees across the country never favoured to travel by the country’s national career, the Central PSUs have also neglected the Air India which seemed to have been responsible for the present status of the Air India.
In yet another example of this, Central PSU Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has doled out a Northeast tour package which involves which have roped in private sector airlines Indigo.
The package titled, ‘Splendor North East Air Package’ mentioned that the travel will start from Kolkata Airport by 6E-623 flight at 0650 Hrs, which is an Indigo Airlines flight.
The package mentioned Kolkata-Guwahati-Kolkata return air ticket in Economy class as included in the travel itinerary.
The state owned Air India has a total debt of Rs. 55,000 crore, which is undergoing a disinvestment process.
The Civil Aviation Ministry had told Air India on May 6 that it should prepare 2018-19 financials for itself and its subsidiaries by end of June as the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has decided to speed up the disinvestment process of three of its wings.
