The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has decided to provide more berths to railway passengers of the region to step up its efforts in improving the capacity of its long distance and passenger trains on a permanent basis.

The additional coaches are to be provided permanently this month in most of the NFR trains.

One AC 3 tier coach will be added in the 55615 / 55616 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Fast passenger train with effect from May 6, 2019.

The NFR also has plans of adding three and four General Second Class coaches in some of the trains.

Three General second Class coaches will be added in the 55803 / 55804 passenger, 55809 / 55810 passenger and 55817 / 55818 passenger trains running between New Bongaigaon and Guwahati with effect from May 25, 2019.

Four General second Class coaches will be added in the 55893 / 55894 passenger and 55895 / 55896 passenger trains running between Rangapara and Rangiya with effect from May 25, 2019

This facility will also be provided in the 55681 / 55682 passenger and 55683 / 55684 passenger trains running between Agartala and Garjee with effect from May 25, 2019.

The NFR is also planning to add  one General second Class coaches in the 55679 / 55680 passenger train running between Agartala and Dharmanagar with effect from May 25, 2019.

Last year, the NFR added 28 coaches on permanent basis in various trains and 302 coaches were added on temporary basis.
