The apprehended linkman along with arms and ammunitions at Borengajuli Army Camp in Udalguri on Thursday.

With security forces remaining alert ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in Udalguri district along with other parts of the State, a linkman of the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB-S) was nabbed in Chinakona area under Khoirabari Police Station during a joint operation carried out by the Army and Udalguri Police on Thursday.

As per information, based on specific intelligence inputs, the troops of the 14th Dogra Regiment of the Indian Army and Udalguri Police conducted a joint operation on Thursday morning and were able to nab 35-year-old Mukta Boro, who has been identified as a linkman of the NDFB(S), from Chinakona area under Khoirabari PS in Udalguri.

According to sources, the security forces were also able to recover one Italy-made 7.65mm pistol along with four rounds of live ammunitions from the possession of the NDF(S) linkman.

Mukta Boro has been handed over to Khoirabari Police Station where he is being interrogated for further information. Security sources have claimed that Boro was involved in a number of extortion-related activities in the Khoirabari and neighbouring areas in Udalguri district.
