Naga rebel group National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) has banned cement giant Star Cement in Nagaland.
The ‘Government of the People’s Republic of Nagaland’ led by NSCN (IM) stopped procurement and distribution of Star Cement in Nagaland.
“In exercise of power, hereby notified all the concerned distributors and suppliers of Star Cement to stop procurement and distribution of Star Cement in the state of Nagaland,” the outfit said in a statement.
The outfit has appealed to distributors and suppliers to cooperate with them and not provide any short of logistic to Star Cement.
“All the concerned distributors and suppliers are hereby directed to co-operate and prevent any form of logistics of Star Cement in the state of Nagaland as well as those directed to Nagaland,” the statement added.
The outfit further said that the cement giant has been banned due to unavoidable circumstances that arose between the management of Star Cement and the ‘Government’ (outfit).
