The government of India and the NSCN (IM) during a meeting of the Ceasefire Ground Rules Review Committee at Chumukedima police complex here on Friday suggested promoting more conducive “ground environment” while upholding progression of sincere conversations embarking on the landmark agreement signed between the two parties on August 3, 2015.

The ministry of information and publicity, NSCN (IM), issued a “joint release” after the meeting. Both the parties described the meeting as courteous and reciprocal.

Special secretary (internal security), ministry of home affairs, Rina Mitra led the 11-member government of India’s representatives while “gen” (retd) VS Atem headed the 13-member NSCN (IM) team at the meeting.
