Dimapur: Nagaland University, the only central university in Nagaland, has launched new 4-year undergraduate science programmes at its multi-disciplinary research centre.
The centre offers core courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Zoology, Botany and Ability Enhancement Courses along with Value Added Courses to build a holistic educational foundation.
The MDRC follows a Flexible Choice-Based Credit System (FCBS) with multiple entry and multiple exit options.
Students can earn a certificate after one year, a diploma after two years, a bachelorโs degree after three years, and a bachelorโs degree with research after four years.
The four-year research degree can lead to direct admission to PhD programmes as per applicable regulations.

The admissions are open for students seeking a multidisciplinary and research-oriented undergraduate education aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The programme is offered at the Lumami campus and aims to equip students with strong academic foundations, practical skills and pathways to higher studies and careers.
Inviting students from all over India to apply for the newly introduced 4-year undergraduate science programmes at the Multi-Disciplinary Research Centre, Prof. Jagadish Kumar Patnaik, Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University, said, โAligned with the vision of NEP 2020, these programmes offer flexible exit options, a dedicated research track, and a truly multidisciplinary learning environment.”
