Nagaland University and Dibrugarh University sign a five-year MoU to boost academic exchange, research, training and collaboration.

Dimapur: Nagaland University and Dibrugarh University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand academic, research and institutional collaboration between the two universities, with the agreement signed at Dibrugarh University on August 20, aimed at creating opportunities for academic exchange, joint research and greater interaction among faculty members, researchers and students of both institutions.

Prof. Joy Das, finance officer (in-charge) of Nagaland University, attended the MoU programme. Dibrugarh University was represented by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Registrar Dr Paramananda Sonowal, and Dr Bipasha Chetia, Head of the Department of Commerce, along with other faculty members.

Three research scholars from Nagaland Universityโ€™s Department of Commerce, who were in Dibrugarh to attend a national seminar, were also present during the programme.

The MoU provides for faculty, researcher and student exchange programmes, internships and training, collaborative research and publications, joint academic courses, conferences, seminars and capacity-building programmes.

It will also promote the exchange of academic expertise and scholarly resources while encouraging both universities to undertake initiatives of mutual interest.

Specific programmes under the agreement will be implemented through mutually agreed project plans or separate agreements, subject to approval from the respective competent authorities and institutional regulations.

The MoU will remain valid for five years.

The partnership is expected to strengthen higher education and research cooperation in Northeast India by creating more opportunities for students, researchers and faculty members and encouraging collaborative work on issues relevant to the region.
