Nagaland has reported 223 new Covid19 cases and 14 more deaths in the last 24 hours.

Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom in a tweet on Sunday said the Covid19 death toll of Nagaland increased to 274 on the day.

On Saturday, Nagaland’s death toll stood at 260.

Health minister Phom said of the new Covid19 cases, Kohima reported 78 cases, Dimapur 77, Tuensang 23, Phek 14, Longleng 11, Zunheboto 10, Mokokchung 5, Mon 3 and Kiphire reported 2 cases.

On Sunday, a total of 137 positive patients recovered from the disease.

Among the recovered patients, 95 were from Dimapur, 26 from Kohima, 5 each from Tuensang and Mon districts, 3 each from Peren and Phek districts, the Nagaland health minister informed.

With the new cases, Nagaland’s cumulative number of Covid19 cases increased to 20,068 on Sunday.

Phom informed that the number of Nagaland’s recovered patients now stands at 14,500.

The Nagaland health minister informed that the number of positive patients, who died due to reasons other than Covid19, is 11.

The number of positive patients, who have migrated out of Nagaland is 605.

In another tweet, health minister Phom the department will engage 56 young, energetic and dedicated medical officers within 48 hours in various health care centres in the state.

“The (Health) Department will be posting another 56 young, energetic & dedicated Medical Officers within 48 hrs to various Health Care Centres in the State to cater to the needs of the people during these challenging times,” Phom tweeted.

“We ensure all possible help we can and appeal to the people to cooperate with the Government & Department,” Pho tweeted.
