The essential movement of all vehicles within Dimapur district, in compliance with the Nagaland government order of July 16, will continue in the odd-even system from July 18 till July 31.
Informing this, Dimapur commissioner of police Rothihu Tetseo in a statement on Saturday said on odd number day on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, only vehicles with registration number ending with odd numbers 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 will be allowed to ply.

During the even number day on every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, only vehicles with registration number ending with even numbers 2, 4, 6, 8 and 0 will be allowed.
Violation of the order will be penalised under Section 177 and 179 of the MV Act 1988.
However, exempted category of vehicles be exempted throughput the week.

All officers and staff in the exempted category should carry identity card issued by respective head of department, the order said.
In another development, Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie today said all vehicular movement along Kohima-Dimapur 4-lane road will remain closed from 4 am to 12 noon on Sunday due to the overlaying of bridge deck slab at Peducha.
Meanwhile, the train services resumed in Dimapur railway station with the GRPS and RPF staff assisting the Covid screening process of passengers by the district medical department.
