The NPF in a statement urged the Lokayukta not to hesitate but apply the same yardstick against all other erring officers whosoever are indulging in corrupt practices.

The party said anti-corruption ombudsman in the state should not succumb to any political pressure as the public looks forward to it to curb the corrupt practices.

It said it believed that such stern action against any particular officer is not a political vendetta, adding that other major corruption cases, which are pending in the court of the Lokayukta, should not be ignored.

The party said the public expects that the Lokayukta will deliver justice in all the other pending cases and not surrender to any political pressure by picking and choosing particular cases.

On January 24, Nagaland Lokayukta Justice Uma Nath Singh accorded prosecution sanction against Thou for her alleged involvement in “illegal, backdated appointment” of tourist officers and assistants.

The prosecution sanction was given under Section 26 of the Nagaland Lokayukta Act, 2017.

The Nagaland Lokayukta police will submit the chargesheet in the special court in Kohima soon, a release said.
