Nagaland governor P.B. Acharya on Sunday extended greetings to the Sumi Naga community on the occasion of Tuluni festival.

In his greetings, Acharya said Tuluni is a festival of great significance which is marked with merry-making for the Sumi community through dances, songs, food and thanks giving to the deities for good fortune and blessings.

He called upon all to take time and thank the Almighty for His unwavering love and blessings.

“Tuluni also celebrates solidarity, sharing and oneness,” he said.

The governor said it is also an occasion to rededicate oneself with renewed vigour to achieve peace, progress and prosperity.

He added that the festival should be a source for building unity and urged all to come together and make the atmosphere conducive in towns and villages for peaceful coexistence and all round development in the state.

“Let us also continue to safeguard and promote the rich culture and traditions through our festivals,” he appealed.

Acharya hoped that the festival of Tuluni would bring peace, unity and prosperity to the Sumis in particular and Nagas in general.
