Construction workers registered under the Nagaland labour department will now receive Rs 2,000 each from the state government as financial support during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The Nagaland government will transfer Rs 2,000 to the bank accounts of each of these construction workers.

The department has registered 30,797 beneficiaries for the same.

It also asked all the beneficiaries with temporarily dormant bank account to immediately to activate them for facilitating seamless transaction.

Meanwhile, Nagaland on Monday reported six Covid-19 deaths and 126 fresh positive cases, the state health and family welfare department said.

Among the fresh cases, 18 people tested positive in Dimapur, three in Kiphire and Tuensang, 68 in Kohima, 16 in Mokokchung , six in Peren , nine in Zunheboto and one each in Longleng, Mon and Wokha.

The Kohima district task force on Covid-19 in collaboration with the Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a one-day special outreach vaccination drive on Monday for high risk group, focusing on business community within Kohima town.

Along with the vaccination drive, screening for non-communicable disease was also conducted for the beneficiaries.

A total of 145 beneficiaries received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine during the outreach programme.
