Nagaland reported five more Covid19 deaths and 82 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
The news has been confirmed by the Nagaland health and family welfare department.
According to the state health department, Nagaland reported 204 more recoveries on Sunday.
Among the new cases, Kohima registered 30, Dimapur 28, Mokokchung 11, Zunheboto 5, Mon 4, Longleng 2 and Kiphire and Phek 1 each.
While 137 positive patients recovered in Dimapur, 39 in Mokokchung, 7 each in Kohima and Phek, 5 in Peren, 4 each in Wokha and Kiphire and 1 in Longleng, the health department said.
Meanwhile, the Nagaland health department in its weekly Covid19 bulletin on Saturday said the number of Covid19 positive cases in the state registered a steady decline for three consecutive weeks.
The state reported 1,079 cases from June 5 to 11, the lowest since April 24, it said.
The department said though Dimapur and Kohima currently have the highest number of active cases, the weekly sample positivity rate of the two districts have drastically come down – 8 percent in Dimapur and 12 percent in Kohima.
However, the weekly sample positivity rate in Mokokchung district recorded the highest in the state.
The Mokokchung district reported a total of 396 positive cases from June 5 to June 11.
According to the health department, 58% of confirmed cases from June 5 to June 11 were traced contacts followed by self-test/random sampling of 36%, travellers and frontline workers recorded 2% and security personnel 1%.
It said the state reported 29 deaths from May 29 to June 11, the lowest fatalities recorded in the last 5 weeks.
But 44% of deaths took place within two days of admission in a hospital.
This is due to very late arrival at hospitals with critical symptoms, the department stated.
It said 25 deaths were reported under home isolation.
The department called for strict monitoring of symptoms under home isolation and to immediately report to hospitals on first signs of difficulty in breathing, increasing high fever, increasing severe cough and mental confusion.
