Nagaland on Saturday recorded the highest single-day 15 Covid19 related deaths and 303 new positive cases, the highest one-day spike this year.

Among the new cases, 204 were detected in Dimapur, 116 in Kohima, six in Mokokchung, four in Mon and one each in Tuensang, Peren and Longleng, Nagaland health minister S Pangnyu Phom said on his Twitter handle.

With the new Covid19 positive cases reported on Saturday, the state’s total caseload rose to 15913.

While the active Covid19 cases in the state stood at 2711, a total of 12,559 people recovered from the infection so far.

Meanwhile, installation of PSA oxygen generation plant in Dimapur has begun, Phom said in another tweet.

Phom said the plant will be completed at the earliest for the benefit and welfare of the people.

“We are doing all we can for public safety. In the meantime, be cooperative and follow all SOPs to overcome this battle,” Phom urged.

Another two oxygen plants, one in Kohima and the other in Mokokchung, in the State are also being set up.
