COVID19 positive

The Covid19 positive cases in Nagaland shot up to 193 with the detection of 14 cases on Wednesday, principal secretary (home) Abhijit Sinha said.

In his briefing on the status of Covid19 situation in the state on Wednesday, Sinha said the total active cases in the state are 90 while 103 other patients have recovered after they tested negative.

All the positive persons are receiving medical care at the designated Covid19 hospitals.

As per the severity of symptoms, all the 90 active cases are asymptomatic, the principal secretary (home) said.

Out of the 193 positive cases, four are in the age group of 0 to 17 years, 182 cases are between 18-44 years, five cases are between 45-64 years and two cases are between 65-74 years.

The number of males is 124 while 69 are females.

Sinha said altogether 7,202 samples have been tested in the state till Wednesday.

The results of 6,174 samples have been received and the results of 1,028 samples are awaited.

Altogether 7,883 persons are presently under facility quarantine, he added.

The government requested all the people in the state in age group of 16 years and above, including frontline workers, to participate in the online survey conducted by the health and family welfare department to assess their mental health status during the Covid19 pandemic.

One may participate in the survey by going to the department’s website nagahealth.nagaland.gov.in till June 30.
