Dimapur: The Nagaland Health and Family Welfare Department on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with HLL Lifecare Limited, a public sector undertaking under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, to start AMRIT (Affordable Medicines and Reliable Implants for Treatment) Pharmacy in the state, an official report said on Thursday.
AMRIT Pharmacy is a flagship initiative launched by HLL Lifecare Ltd to provide affordable medical itemsโincluding medicines of all types and categories, surgical items, consumables, and implantsโfor the treatment of cancer, cardiovascular ailments, and other diseases. The initiative aims to reduce overall treatment costs and make quality healthcare affordable for all citizens.
As per the MoU, HLL Lifecare Ltd will also set up a warehouse at the State Family Welfare Training Institute in Chรผmoukedima, from where Citizen Welfare Pharmacies of various public hospitals will procure their requirements.
The company will also open AMRIT Pharmacy outlets in public hospitals wherever required. Through this initiative, citizens of the state will be able to access quality medical supplies at discounted prices, thereby reducing treatment costs.
The MoU was signed by Principal Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr Mereninla Senlem, and the Senior Manager, RBDโNorth East, on behalf of HLL Lifecare Ltd.
