The Assam Rifles troops apprehended an overground worker (OGW) of the Isak-Muivah faction of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN-IM) in Nagaland’s Mon district.
The NSCN-IM overground worker was nabbed from the general area Phuktong village in Mon district on Friday, the Assam Rifles said on its official Twitter handle on Sunday.

Assam Rifles informed that the troops recovered one .32 mm pistol along with live rounds of ammunition from the possession of the NSCN-IM overground worker.
The NSCN-IM member was later handed over to the police, Assam Rifles said.

In April 2020, the Indian Army busted a camp of NSCN-IM in the Mon district of Nagaland.
The temporary hideout of NSCN-IM near Longting in Mon district was busted during a joint operation comprising troops from the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and Nagaland Police.
