Apart from Muivah, who is also the chief negotiator, nine senior members who are part of the NSCN-IM’s talk team, were present at the meeting.

While the agenda of the meeting on Monday could not be ascertained, reports said it was ‘just a casual briefing’.

According to other reports, after today’s ‘cordial’ meeting, talks would be held ‘on a daily basis’.

Monday’s meeting signals the resumption of formal talks between the two sides in Delhi since October 2019, though few rounds of ‘informal’ talks were held earlier this year before the COVID-19 pandemic took over the country.

A team of nine senior members of the NSCN-IM’s Collective Leadership reached Delhi for the talk on August 7.

Muivah, who was already in Delhi along with his support staff, joined the team.

The meeting was held amid speculations of strained relations between the GOI interlocutor to Naga Peace Talks, R N Ravi and the NSCN-IM.
