Rio tweeted: “Nagaland govt’s policy is to pursue a vision of inclusiveness & take administration & govt. machinery to all corners of the state for all round development.”

It may be mentioned that the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) coalition partners had decided to hold a full-fledged Cabinet meeting in Kiphire district as part of its endeavour to take governance and administration to all corners in a manner that was inclusive where all citizens and stakeholders participated in the development aspirations of the people.

Kiphire is the ninth district of Nagaland which was carved out of Tuensang district. As of 2011, it is the second least populous district out of 11 districts of the State after Longleng and is about 254 km from Kohima.

The Centre selected Kiphire district in Nagaland as one of the aspirational districts in the country to bring in prosperity and make it an economically-sound district in the state as well as in the country.

Before the Cabinet meeting, Rijiju inaugurated the upgraded Kiphire district hospital. He is also scheduled to inaugurate the women police station in Kiphire on Saturday.

Rio, along with State Health and Family Welfare Minister S. Pangnyu, was present at the inauguration of the upgraded district hospital.

Earlier, Rio twitted: “People of Kiphire will have access to better healthcare with upgraded facilities & infrastructure.”

He also lauded Rijiju for agreeing to come to “one of the most far-flung areas” of Nagaland for the occasion.

“I’ve accepted the invitation and looking forward to attend the State Cabinet Meeting,” Rijiju posted on his official Twitter handle on Thursday. He lauded the “commendable gesture of the seasoned and visionary Chief Minister”.

“Holding the Cabinet meeting in a remote Kiphire (Aspirational District) reflects Govt’s intention,” he stated.
