Troops of Assam Rifles seized contraband worth Rs two crore from Padum Pukhuri in Dimapur of Nagaland on Friday.
A press release issued by Assam Rifles HQ IGAR (N) said as part of the ongoing crackdown to prevent illegal activities, the Assam Rifles seized Myanmarese areca nut from the area.
Based on specific information about a consignment of contraband, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation and seized 1040 bags of Myanmarese areca nut worth Rs two crore from the area.
The seized contraband was handed over to Custom Preventive Division officials in Dimapur.
The assistant commissioner of Custom Preventive Division also sealed the godown from where the contraband was seized.
