Security forces have nabbed a proscribed NSCN-K rebel from Manmao in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district.
Police said acting on intelligence inputs about the presence of militants at Phinbiro-I village under Manmao circle, a joint operation was launched by Manmao Police and 9th Rajputana Rifles on the intervening night of March 20 and 21.

Changlang SP Mihin Gambo said during the search operation, one suspected militant was held by the joint team from a jhum field at Phinbiro-I village of the district.
The arrested militant has been identified as self-styled sergeant Moshang Thampang.
During interrogation, the NSCN (K) militant admitted that he had come for extortion in the area, said SP Gambo.
