Nagaland cricket captain Rongsen Jonathan maiden List A hundred was deemed invalid after BCCI rescheduled their match against Manipur due to rain in Dehradun.

The match was played as one of the encounters of the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.

This decision has made the young cricketer ‘hurt, upset, annoyed and robbed’.

“Why should players be robbed of…records just because a result wasn’t possible?” he questioned in anguish.

Jonathan said he has written to BCCI but is yet to receive a response.

Nagaland played Manipur in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, the team’s first match of its second domestic season ever, stated reports.

The match was played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Dehradun on a damp surface that saw Jonathan ride a tough pitch to smash a century while batting at number three.

Then BCCI decided to deem the century invalid as it has rescheduled the same fixture against Manipur, according to reports.
