Dimapur: Nagaland secured corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments worth Rs 30 crore during the Nagaland Connect 2026 CSR Conclave organised by the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The conclave witnessed the submission of 15 letters of intent and commitment by various corporate entities to IDAN in the presence of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Deputy Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton.

Held under the theme “Forging Partnerships, Creating Impact”, the roundtable was organised by IDAN in collaboration with CSRBox and brought together representatives from over 40 companies. The event facilitated the formalisation of several CSR partnerships through the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs), letters of intent and commitment statements.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rio urged Indiaโ€™s corporate sector to view Nagaland as a promising destination for investment and development. He emphasised that CSR should be regarded not merely as a statutory obligation but as a powerful tool for promoting equity and inclusive growth.

โ€œNagaland today is not merely a destination for assistance; it is a destination for opportunity,โ€ Rio said, highlighting the state’s youthful demographic, strategic location under India’s Act East Policy, and initiatives such as the Nagaki Incubation City as indicators of its growing economic potential.

The Chief Minister identified education, healthcare, livelihoods, sports, environmental sustainability, womenโ€™s empowerment and youth development as priority sectors for CSR intervention. He also highlighted the state’s single-window mechanism through IDAN, designed to facilitate, coordinate and monitor CSR partnerships effectively.

Inviting greater corporate participation, Rio said, โ€œI encourage you not just to invest in projects, but to invest in people, aspirations and possibilities.โ€

The conclave aimed to strengthen collaboration between the corporate sector and the Nagaland government, explore opportunities for multi-sector and multi-company partnerships, encourage CSR co-investment alongside government schemes and create a pipeline of investment-ready development projects curated by IDAN.
