Nagaland minister for health and family welfare, S Pangnyu Phom on Tuesday has urged the central government to set up AYUSH hospitals in all the 11 districts of the State.
Phom made this request during his meeting with the Union Minister of State (IC) for Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Shripal Yesso Naik in New Delhi.
A statement issued to the media from the public relations officer of Nagaland House in New Delhi disclosed that Phom apprised the Union Minister on the implementation of the AYUSH scheme in the State and thanked him for ‘his continuous support’.
It is understood that the union minister reportedly ‘appreciated the State for implementing the AYUSH scheme and assured the minister for more AYUSH projects in the State’.
Naik added that there would be a separate directorate for AYUSH department in the State. He asked the State to submit a state priority project at the earliest.
The Nagaland health minister was accompanied by commissioner and secretary, Himato Zhimomi and H&FW Director, Dr Vizolie Suokhrie.
