Dimapur: The Nagaland government has instructed all unauthenticated state government employees to compulsorily submit identity documents for verification under the Personal Information Management System (PIMS).
In a notification issued on May 22 by the Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) Department through the PIMS Cell, the government said the initiative aims to improve employee authentication and strengthen administrative transparency and governance.
The department noted that several directives had earlier been issued to government departments and employees regarding Aadhaar linkage with PIMS through official memorandums released in 2018 and 2021. Despite these instructions, many employees have still not completed the Aadhaar integration process, leading to authentication failures.
To address the issue, the government directed all unauthenticated employees to submit valid identity documents through their respective departments for further verification by the P&AR Department.
According to the notification, Aadhaar has been designated as the primary document for authentication. However, employees who do not possess Aadhaar or choose not to provide it may alternatively submit any two approved identity documents.
These include PAN card, driving licence, Indian passport, salary account bank passbook, or HSLC/Class X admit card containing photograph, fatherโs name and date of birth, in line with the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules, 2020.
The government has asked all concerned employees to comply with the directive and submit the necessary documents to their respective departments by June 3.
