Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has sought cooperation among the administrative heads, heads of departments and the legislators for improving the working system of the government.
At a coordination meeting of ministers and advisors with administrative heads of departments and heads of departments at Civil Secretariat in Kohimaon Friday, Rio said, “It’s high time for the working relationship to develop so that we can serve our state.”
He wanted that the elected members provide their tour programmes to the Chief Minister’s Office and the AHoDs and HoDs to their respective ministers and advisors so that they can be contacted if any work arises.
“We also want to bring out the best and the worst performing departments which can be announced on Independence Day or Republic Day,” Rio said.
The chief minister stressed the need to expedite the implementation of Nagaland State Transport bus services from Dimapur to Chumukedima, introduction of pink buses for women in Dimapur and Kohima, biometric attendance installation in all the departments.
Rio also underscored the urgent need to implement New Sports Policy, Tourism Policy and measures for differently-abled persons.
The chief minister also raised concern over allotment of public land to private individuals.
“If Nagas as a whole gain all individuals will gain. But even if individuals gain and Nagas lose, we will all ultimately lose. No more encroaching the nullahs, footpaths etc. We have to think big and let the multi-national companies come,” he stated.
Chief secretary Temjen Toy said the meeting was convened to discuss improvement in good governance. He reiterated and reminded the officials of the procedure of routing files through the advisors.
He further directed all the departments to give the report of their innovative programme achievements latest by July 24.
