“We also want to bring out the best and the worst performing departments which can be announced on Independence Day or Republic Day,” Rio said.

Rio also underscored the urgent need to implement New Sports Policy, Tourism Policy and measures for differently-abled persons.

The chief minister also raised concern over allotment of public land to private individuals.

“If Nagas as a whole gain all individuals will gain. But even if individuals gain and Nagas lose, we will all ultimately lose. No more encroaching the nullahs, footpaths etc. We have to think big and let the multi-national companies come,” he stated.

Chief secretary Temjen Toy said the meeting was convened to discuss improvement in good governance. He reiterated and reminded the officials of the procedure of routing files through the advisors.

He further directed all the departments to give the report of their innovative programme achievements latest by July 24.

Ministers and advisors present also shared their concerns and suggestions for improvement of the working system of the government and urged the senior bureaucrats and technocrats to unitedly work for the welfare of the people and progress of the state.
