Dimapur: Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Aids Care Trust Support and Nagaland social welfare department, launched ‘Breaking The Silence’ campaign, an initiative aligned with the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, with an online platform on the International Youth Day in Kohima on Monday.

The campaign is aimed at raising awareness on mental health and substance abuse.

Gracing the inaugural programme of the event, Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) Maj Gen Manish Kumar highlighted the critical need to challenge the stigma associated with mental health and drug abuse. He called upon the youth to play an active role in this vital endeavour.

Commending the efforts of the campaign organising team, Kumar emphasised the importance of a collective approach in supporting the campaign across Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur.

Miss Northeast 2023 Kenei Ritse and Miss Nagaland 2022 Hikali Achumi also took part in the campaign launch programme and underscored the campaign’s mission to address the silence surrounding mental health and substance abuse.
