KOHIMA: Nagaland government has strongly condemned threats and coercion by Naga groups, stating that such actions are criminal offenses and will be prosecuted accordingly.
Nagaland minister KG Kenye said that the state government is concerned over recent “death threats and capital punishment” decreed by NSCN-Khango against K Rulho, a contractor and trader.
NSCN-Khango, one of several Naga factions currently under a ceasefire agreement and in negotiations with the government, has been implicated in the incident.
In response, an FIR has been registered against the NSCN-Khango and its members under relevant legal provisions.
“The state government is committed to maintaining peace and tranquility in Nagaland, which are crucial for economic development and prosperity,” Kenye stated.
