Various Naga civil society organisations such the Konyak Union, the Nagaland Tribes Council, the Nagaland Gaoburha Federation and the Nagaland Peace Centre, Kohima have welcomed the offer of Khango Konyak-led NSCN (Khaplang) for resumption of ceasefire with the government of India. They have also urged New Delhi to reciprocate the truce offer without delay.
On November 12, the Khango-led NSCN (K) issued a statement expressing its willingness to resume the ceasefire with the centre. The group said it desired to pursue the Naga political issue with the centre by resuming the previously abrogated ceasefire.

It officially endorsed the Nagaland Gaon Burah Federation to act as a mediator with the government of India for resuming the ceasefire at a meeting in Yangkhao village in Mon district on October 25.
Konyak Union president Manlip Konyak and general secretary Honang Konyak, in a statement on Saturday, lauded NSCN (K) led by Khango for sending peace overtures to the government of India in order to resume peace talks. It also urged the government of India to reciprocate the peace overture without further delay.
The union reaffirmed to put in all efforts for peace and tranquility within its jurisdiction. It further expressed appreciation to all Naga political groups and Assam Rifles posted within its jurisdiction for exercising utmost restraint and creating a peaceful climate as desired by all.

While acknowledging the role played by various Naga civil societies playing the role of mediator for resumption of the ceasefire, the Konyak Union appealed to the Naga civil societies and organisations to cooperate and support the process without any bias.
The Nagaland Tribes Council termed the offer of the Khango-led NSCN (K) as the right decision at the right time. It said the decision to re-enter into ceasefire with the government of India as announced in public domain is indeed a positive development.
“Such decision to resume ceasefire with the government of India is a matter of respecting the general sentiment of the Nagas desiring for genuine and lasting peace in our lands,” the council said in a release.
The council also said the government of India will be magnanimous to show its sense of recognition and respect for the offer of Khango group.
The Nagaland Peace Centre, Kohima appreciated at the positive move of Khango group to resume the abrogated ceasefire and pursue the Naga political issue with the centre.
Welcoming the decision of the Khango group, the Nagaland Gaon Burha Federation appealed to the centre to promptly respond to the peace offer and resume talks as soon as possible. It also urged all Naga political groups to unite and join the peace process for an early solution to the Naga issue.
