The controversy around Mizoram Chief Electoral Officer S B Shashank continues to create unrest across Mizoram on Wednesday even though the Election Commission of India has summoned him to New Delhi.

Leaders of the CYMA and NGO Coordination Committee are still doubtful because the Commission has not yet issued transfer order for S B Shashank adding that Save Mizoram Movement will continue.

A massive protest was held on Tuesday and all the branches of the YMA within the city limits participated in the protest, even as Aizawl came to a complete halt, with all the other civil society organizations joining the protest.

After a meeting of the Election Commission of India officials and the NGO Coordination Committee headed by the CYMA, the ECI summoned S B Shashank to New Delhi, but without a transfer order.
The CYMA demanded that a transfer order be issued and has stated that Save Mizoram Movement will continue until the demand is met.

“The protest will not be a big one like that of yesterday, we have called upon several YMA branches to picket the office of the election department, all district sub headquarters of the YMA are also notified that until our demands are met, all election process should be halted, and the movement is indefinite,” said CYMA sources.
