“I believe with full conviction that this century will belong to India,” said Mizoram Governor PS Sreedharan on Friday in his Republic Day message.

“The 21st century will be that of India, not with a view to conquer or invade other countries, but rather for the betterment and prosperity of the world, and the achievement of world peace,” he reiterated.

Citing that the sovereignty of the nation is under challenge promoted by anti-nation forces, Pillai urged the people to make efforts to ensure that the trinity of nationality, integrity and sovereignty remained intact.

“Unity of the country is the need of the hour,” he said.

The government has taken up a slew of initiatives on various fronts and laid a strong foundation on which to build a strong and self-reliant state,” he added.

He said that the government has constituted 14 boards for the successful implementation of its flagship programme -Socio-Economic Development Policy’ (SEDP).

He added that the government has also taken up a number of development initiatives to usher in all-round development in three ADC areas in the southern part of the state.

The governor also called upon denizens to cooperate with the governments, both at the Centre and state to develop the country as well as Mizoram towards greater heights.

PS Sreedharan was sworn in as the 21st governor of Mizoram in November last year.
