Over 4 thousand Samagra Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) teachers across Mizoram will receive their pending salaries before Christmas.

This was informed by Mizoram Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte.

It may be mentioned here that the SSA teachers in Mizoram have not received their salaries since the month of August.

Mizoram Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte informed that after repeated pursuance of the matter by the State Government, the Centre on December 18 released the sanction order for payment of due salaries to the SSA teachers.

“The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has deposited the amount into Mizoram’s account. All the employees – from primary to high school level under SSA will be paid their due salaries for the months from August to December. They will get their salaries before Christmas,” said Mizoram Education Minister Lalchhandama Ralte.

This announcement from the Mizoram Education Minister comes after opposition Congress criticised the MNF Government in the State for non-payment of due salaries of the teachers.

The Congress had demanded for payment of due salaries of the teachers in the State before Christmas.

The Congress had slammed the State Government for allegedly making thousands of SSA employees face hardships by ‘failing’ to pay their salaries.
