Mizoram has registered 30 new COVID19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s overall tally to 1,578.

The news has been confirmed by the directorate of information & public relations (DIPR), Mizoram.

Sharing the news, the DIPR on its Twitter handle on Sunday said one positive case has been detected at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) during RT-PCR test, 3 cases detected during Rapid Antigen Test positive  and 26 cases have been confirmed during TrueNAT test.

The DIPR informed that the 26 new cases include 24 males and 2 females.

Of the infected patients, 20 patients, including 19 males and 1 female have been reported from Lunglei district and they are Assam Rifles personnel.

Four (males) of the infected patients have been detected in Lawngtlai district and all are construction workers of the Border Road Construction (BRO).

Two other infected patients, including 1 male and 1 female, have been detected in Kolasib district, the DIPR informed.

The number of samples tested at ZMC by PT-PCR in the last 24 hours is 1,504, which is the highest number of tests conducted in a single day till now, the DIPR said.

In the last 24 hours, the number of Rapid Antigen Test administered was 108 and the number of samples tested at TrueNAT labs in the district hospitals was 132, it said.

Meanwhile, one more patient recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours.

The patient was discharged from the Beraw Covid care centre on Saturday evening.,
