Mizoram on Wednesday reported 203 new Covid19 cases, pushing the state’s tally to 14,196.

A total of 3,214 samples were tested for Covid19 in the last 24 hours, which put a single-day positivity rate at 6.31%, said an official.

Of the 203 fresh cases, Aizawl district reported the highest at 158, followed by Lunglei district at 24 and Kolasib district at 11.

Siaha district reported 3 cases, Saitual district 4, Serchhip district 2 and Mamit district reported 1 case.

More than 52 children and a healthcare worker were among the newly infected people, the official said.

Four patients have travel history while 150 patients were diagnosed with Covid19 during contact tracing and it is to ascertain how the remaining 49 patients were infected by the deadly virus, he said.

A total of 145 patients have developed symptoms of Covid19 and the remaining 58 are asymptomatic, he said.

Mizoram now has 3,370 Covid19 active cases while 10,769 people have recovered from the infection.

The death toll in the state remains at 57.

The recovery rate is 75.86% and the death rate stands at 0.41%.

Of the new cases detected in the last 24 hours, 34 were confirmed during RT-PCR test at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) laboratory, 34 during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 7 were confirmed during TrueNat test.

The state has tested 4,17,798 samples for Covid19 till date.

According to state immunisation officer Dr. Lalzawmi, as many as 2,74,383 people have been administered the first dose of Covid19 vaccine, of which 52,535 have received both doses till Tuesday.

As per the latest Mizoram Covid19 bulletin, so far, a total of 14,196 people have tested positive for the virus in the state.

Of the total positive cases, registered in Mizoram, 8,283 are male and 5,913 are female.

Currently, Aizawl district has a total of 2,620 active Covid19 patients, which is the highest figure in the state, followed by Lungei district, which has 204 active Covid19 cases.

Mizoram’s Hnanthial district currently has no active Covid19 case.
