Mizoram has reported two more Covid19 deaths and 113 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.
According to the latest Covid19 bulletin, released by the department of information and public relation (DIPR) on Monday morning, of the new cases, 94 were confirmed during Rapid Antigen Tests (RAT) and 19 other cases were confirmed during TrueNat tests.
According to the bulletin, no RT-PCR test was conducted at Zoram Medical College (ZMC) laboratory as it remained closed on Sunday, being a holiday.
With the new cases, the Covid19 tally of Mizoram increased to 13,679 on Monday.
So far, a total of 10,345 people have recovered from the disease in the state.
After two more people succumbed to Covid19 infection, the state’s death toll rose to 55.
Mizoram currently has 3,279 active Covid19 cases.
The state’s positivity rate stands at 15.14%.
As per the bulletin, a total of 213 samples were tested at TrueNAT labs in the district hospitals in the last 24 hours.
The total number of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted on Sunday was 533.
Of the new cases, 58 are symptomatic while 55 are asymptomatic.
The number of positive cases per 1000 population stood at 12, as per the latest Covid19 bulletin.
Of the new 113 cases, Aizawl district reported 75 cases, 9 from Lunglei district, 6 from Kolasib district, 4 from Saitual district, 17 from Lawngtlai district and one case each was reported from Mamit and Khawzawl districts, said an official.
More than 30 children, including a two-month old baby, were among the newly infected people, the official said.
