NGO coordination committee- a conglomerate of several civil societiesโ organisation of Mizoramโ called off its protest again planned during union home minister Amit Shahโs visit to the state on Saturday.
The body had called the protest against the Centreโs decision to go ahead with the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Informing the same, Assam finance minister twitted, โOn October 5, Union Home Minister Sri @AmitShah shall arrive in #Aizwal for a day-long visit. Mizo NGO Coordination Committee shall welcome him and submit a memorandum. There is widespread enthusiasm among people in Mizoram over the visit.โ

The Mizo Coordination Committee on September 29 decided to stage a protest during Shahโs visit by wearing black shawls.
