Mizoram on Saturday reported 825 new Covid19 cases, which is 57 cases less than the total 882 cases reported on Friday, an official said.

The new positive cases have pushed the state’s Covid19 total count to 62,817, he said.

The state also reported one more fatality in the last 24 hours that took the death toll to 220, he said.

The single-day positivity rate was 9% as the new positive cases were detected from 9,083 samples.

Mizoram’s Aizawl district reported the highest new positive cases at 413, followed by Lawngtlai district at 89 and Lunglei district at 68, he said.

At least 203 children were among the newly-infected people, he said.

Mizoram now has 10,517 Covid19 active cases while 52,080 people have recovered from the infection, including 690 on Friday.

The recovery rate among Covid19 patients is 82.90% and the death rate is 0.35%.

The state has conducted tests of more than 8.97 samples for Covid19 till date.

According to the state immunisation officer, more than 6.57 lakh people have been vaccinated till Friday, of which 2.46 lakh have received full doses of Covid19 vaccine.

Meanwhile, 67.72 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive

India has reported a total of 42,618 new Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours.

The active Covid19 cases account for 1.23% of total cases.

India’s active caseload stands at 4,05,681.

The country’s recovery rate currently stands at 97.43%.

The country reported 36,385 recoveries in the last 24 hours which increased the total recoveries to 3,21,00,001.

India reported the weekly positivity rate at 2.63%, which is less than 3% in the last 71 days.

The daily positivity rate stands at 2.50%.

India has conducted a total of 52.82 crore tests so far.
