Mizoram COVID-19 daily tally continues to show a downward trend as the state daily cases fell below 1,000 cases for 20 consecutive days after 638 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
The state’s COVID-19 count reached 1,22,992 on Wednesday while the death toll rose to 436 as one more person has succumbed to the infection, an official said.
The single-day positivity rate dipped to 10.32 per cent from 13.99 per cent on the previous day, he said.
At least 153 children and a Border Security Force (BSF) jawan among the newly infected people, he said.

Five patients have travel history while the rest 633 were found to have contracted the disease locally, he said.
The number of active cases now stands at 6,325, while 796 people have recovered on Tuesday till 5 pm, taking the total recoveries to 1,16,231.
The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients is 94.50 per cent and the death rate is 0.35 per cent.
According to state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), more than 13.24 lakh samples have been tested for COVID-19 so far, of which 6,181 samples were tested on Tuesday.

Over 6.98 lakh people have been vaccinated till Tuesday, of which 5.18 lakh people have received full dose, according to state immunisation officer Dr Lalzawmi.
A total of 12.16 lakh doses have been administered to beneficiaries, she said.
