The Mizoram Board of School Education (MBSE) will re-commence the suspended class-12 board examinations for pending subjects on June 16.

A notification issued by the MBSE on Wednesday said examinations of Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) for remaining subjects in Arts, Science and Commerce streams will be re-commenced from June 16 to 18.

About 4,700 students were yet to complete their board examinations in Economics, Chemistry, Sociology, Computer Science and Home Science.

The examinations were suspended in March due to nationwide lockdown imposed to curtail the spread of novel coronavirus.

Earlier in April, the MBSE has announced the resumption of the board examinations between April 22-24, which received stiff opposition from students citing various inconveniences amid nationwide lockdown.

The examinations, however, were postponed when the Centre asked the State Government to put on hold due to the ongoing lockdown and preventive measure to contain the spread of novel coronavirus in place in the country.

In a separate notification, the board also announced that compartmental examinations for class-10 students will be held on June 16 at 11 centres across the State.
