The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to allow students who have shifted to their homes to appear for their board examinations from the districts that they are currently staying in.

The announcement was made by Union HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Wednesday.

He also said that thousands of students had moved to their home state due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Understanding their concerns, the CBSE has decided that such students can take their board exams only in their home district, Pokhriyal added.

He also said that these students would have to inform their respective schools about their present locations.

The information would be collected by CBSE following which it would help the students to appear for their pending exams from their current locations.

The CBSE had recently released the date sheets for the pending Class X and Class XII board exams.

As per the revised date sheets, the classes 10 and 12 board exams will be conducted from July 1 to July 15.

Pokhriyal had also recently said that the pending Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) exams will be held at 15000 centres across the country to ensure that social distancing is followed properly and also to minimise travel for students.
