Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga on Tuesday flagged off the inaugural flight of GoAir from Aizawl.
The first Airbus 320 of GoAir took off from Lengpui Airport in Aizawl en route to Guwahati.
Zoramthanga took to Twitter to announce the beginning of the air services between Aizawl and Guwahati.
He wrote:
‘Glad to flag off the first Airbus 320 from Go-Air. Thank you @goairlinesindia for providing better connectivity with the rest of the Nation and it is with warm hearts the people of Mizoram welcomes you.’
The low cost airline GoAir launched daily flights to and from Mizoram’s capital city Aizawl from Tuesday.

GoAir flight G8 248 will depart from Guwahati at 6:50 am and arrive in Aizawl at 7:50 am.
The return flight G8 249 will depart from Aizawl at 8:40 am and arrive in Guwahati at 9:50 pm.
GoAir also announced introductory offer price of Rs 2498 return fares.
GoAir’s daily flight to and from Aizawl will connect the city’s capital to Guwahati.
This connectivity will also enable people to reach the major business hub of the east, namely Kolkata.
GoAir has added 16 aircraft to the network in 11 months – ever since we went international – resulting in 90 new flights.
The launch of Aizawl is in sync with the government’s vision for the seven sisters of Northeast aptly described as ‘transformation by transportation’.
