Standing in solidarity with the nation’s fight against COVID-19, members of Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) and its employees have decided to contribute to the Mizoram Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) and PM CARES Fund.

A statement issued by the Information and Public Relations Department of the CADC said Rs 2.80 lakhs will be contributed to the CMRF by the MDCs and other portfolio holders.

The employees will also contribute a total of Rs1,80,102 to the PM CARES Fund, the statement said.

Earlier, CADC has contributed Rs.50,000 to Central Young Chakma Association as financial assistance to help maintain and observe the 21 days lockdown imposed throughout the nation to contain the outbreak of COVID-19.

Besides, Rs.10,000 each was paid to YCA, Longpuighat and YCA, Borapansury.

The MDCs of the twenty MDC constituencies have been extending all possible help either in cash or kinds to all the village level task forces on COVID-19 in their respective constituencies.
