The Aizawl Battalion of 23 Sector Assam Rifles and the excise and narcotics department has seized 24 grams of heroin from two individuals in Khatla South of Aizawl.
Acting on specific information, a joint team of Assam Rifles personnel and excise and narcotics department officials carried out the operation on Wednesday.
The team also detained the two individuals for questioning and recovered Rs 69,500 in cash from them.

The seized heroin has been estimated to be worth Rs 9,60,000.
The Assam Rifles in collaboration with the excise and narcotics has been conducting several such operations during the past few days in Mizoram.
Cross-border smuggling activities have become a major cause of concern in the state.
On the other hand, Mizoram is also struggling to tackle the menace of drugs as more youngsters in the state are getting hooked to them.
