Mizoram’s COVID-19 scenario continues to worsen. 

The state has reported 235 new cases, which took the total cases tally to 12,634. 

Meanwhile, Mizoram has reported two more COVID-19 fatalities. 

These two new death cases have pushed the State’s COVID-19 death toll up to 44.

The new 235 cases were detected after conducting tests of 3,752 samples. 

The new 235 cases were detected in Mizoram at a positivity rate of 6.26%, state information and public relations department said in a statement. 

Of the 235 new cases, 52 were detected through RT-PCR tests at the Zoram Medical College near Aizawl, 172 through Rapid Antigen Test and 11 via TrueNat tests. 

With the detection of 235 new cases, Mizoram’s active cases tally has shot up to 3243.

Aizawl has the highest number of active cases of the State – 2348. 

Meanwhile, 9347 people in Mizoram so far have also recovered from the deadly disease.
