To achieve the motto of ‘Wining hearts and minds” of the local populace, the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles organized an online ex-servicemen meet for ex-servicemen of Mizoram’s Serchhip and Champhai districts on Wednesday.

The Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles organised the ex-servicemen meet at the initiative of Headquarter 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Inspector General Assam Rifles (East).

“The aim of the meet was to ensure well-being of the veterans residing in the Battalion Area of Responsibility during the COVID outbreak,” the HQ IGAR (East) said in a statement.

The representatives of the Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles took cognizance of the issues being faced by the ex-servicemen.

The ex-servicemen were assured of quick redressal of their grievances.

The president of the Ex-Servicemen Association expressed his gratitude the relentless efforts being made by the Serchhip Battalion, the Assam Rifles statement said.

Meanwhile, on May 24, the Aizawl Battalion of Assam Rifles, which is leading the fight against Covid19, provided essential items and anti-Covid kits to volunteers, who are part of Local Level Task Forces (LLTFs) fighting Covid19 pandemic in Aizawl city of Mizoram, the Assam Rifles tweeted.
