Aizawl: The Central Young Chakma Association (CYCA) based in Lawngtlai district of south Mizoram observed the 47th Young Chakma Association Day on Friday, bringing together all members for a memorable occasion.

The Young Chakma Association (YCA) was established on October 25, 1978.

The event commenced with the unfurling of the YCA flag by education officer in the Chakma council Gana Chandra Chakma, who graced the event as the chief guest. 

This was followed by a programme, where the chief guest emphasised the importance of YCA and its contributions to the Chakma community.

CYCA president Jyoti Bikash Chakma paid tribute to the pioneers who paved the way for the organisation’s existence. 

Highlighting CYCA’s contributions to the society, he urged the members to remain united to deliver voluntary services to those in need. 

While saying that there is still much work to be done, the leader encouraged everyone to take action to turn visions into reality.

The programme was followed by a visit of the CYCA members to the Mahamuni Buddha Vihar.

The CYCA extended its heartfelt gratitude to Gana Chandra Chakma, all members and the well-wishers for making the 47th Young Chakma Association Day a resounding success.
