Guwahati: The historic Vayu Veer Vijeta car rally, commemorating the 92nd anniversary of Indian Air Force (IAF), and 25 years of India’s victory in Kargil War, arrived at the Tezpur Air Force Station in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Friday.

The 7,000-km iconic car rally that started from Ladakh’s Thoise will culminate in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang via Assam.

The team was received by Station Commander of Tezpur Air Force Station Group Captain VK Gupta besides other personnel of the station.

The car rally arrived at Guwahati in Assam, often referred to as the gateway to the Northeast on Wednesday.

The rally – aimed at motivating the youth of India to join the armed forces – visited the Gauhati University on Thursday and Tezpur University on Friday.

The team was accorded a warm welcome at both the universities and felicitated by the faculty and students.
