Starred question of the ongoing Mizoram state legislative assembly budget session to be answered on Thursday was leaked on Tuesday night and went viral on several Mizo social media groups.
The question regarding the 7th pay commission was asked by five legislators – K Sangthuama, Lalruatkima, Dr K Beichhua, TT Zothansanga and Lalthanliana, a photographed copy of the answer was leaked on social media late Tuesday night and did its rounds in several Mizo social media platforms.
“The culprit will be traced and be caught, it was not a very sensitive question that was leaked, but the seriousness lies in the very fact that it did rounds before the assembly session and that confidentiality was breached,” Lalsawta, finance minister said.
One of the MLAs who raised the starred question, MNF legislator Lalruatkima said that there was no need to have a question hour if the answers to their questions were leaked.
“There is no point in deliberating, if answers to our questions are leaked before they are answered in the Assembly house, the sanctity of the house is put to a certain demean,” Lalruatkima said.
Sources from the state assembly secretariat said that an FIR would be lodged.
