Sources said the pro-ILP writings were written by a group of activists, demanding implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in the state, which has been delayed by the Centre.

When the Meghalaya Cabinet meeting was in progress, a group of Jaiñtia Students’ Movement came to the soil and water conservation office for submitting a memorandum to Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma.

The students’ body demanded setting up of a government college in East Jaiñtia Hills district, which has been pending since 2015.

The Meghalaya Cabinet meeting at Jowai is the second meeting of the MDA government outside Shillong where the State Secretariat is located.
